Who was Bhṛgu & why did he curse Viṣṇu to be born as Kṛṣṇa, amongst many other avatārs? How can we integrally-sincere seekers who can hardly claim to know/understand/practice/experience any real science, scholarship, devotion or action respond to the super-concentrated yet subtle black-body radiating attractiveness <Śrī Kṛṣṇa> being reborn in us not just past midnight 🕛 today but in every moment of our life. Read on for our own truly happy birthday folks...

Told 🌬 & retold 🗣 a zillion times in a zillion ways for over 5️⃣+ millennia, almost ‘everyone’ is aware of Śrī Kṛṣṇa‘s history, geography & civic sense; His ‘devotees,’ in the lineage of Śrī RādhāRānī, are aware of His chemistry; His ‘scholars,’ in the lineage of Yudhisthirā, are aware of His art, music, prose, poetry & language; His active ‘followers,’ in the lineage of Arjunā, are aware of His literal call for action; & His ‘rāja-yogīs,’ in the lineage of Uddhavā, are aware of His science, technology, engineering & math (STEM), with undoctored wisdom & surgical precision!

Strange irony indeed that such a rare human being as Śrī Kṛṣṇa who integrated all aspects of life with unexceptionally joyful acceptance is Himself seen only in parts even by the greatest beings who’ve followed him. He was thus far ahead of not only His own times but of our current times too & may perhaps always remain so! This is because the 🛠 tools ⚒️ (body, mind, intellect etc.) we use to comprehend Him are finite while the comprehensiveness of Śrī Kṛṣṇa is ♾. It’s indeed futile to measure the ♾ with finite steps. The only way out is infinite or not!

Despite all these 4️⃣ types of awareness (🙏 bhakti 🙇‍♀️ , 💓 jñānā 🧠, 🖐 karmā 🦵 & 🧘‍♀️ rāja yogā🧘🏽‍♂️ ), the literal gem 💎 & beautiful historical narrative 🗣 of Veda Vyāsā’s son <शुकदेव Śuka-deva>’s effulgent parroting 🦜 of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam to the one being tested <Parikshit> by the trials of life, has levels of truth embedded in itself & that’s still an understatement! Access to any specific level of Śrī Kṛṣṇa‘s truth depends on our own current spiritual status/grade, continually enhanced by our ongoing sādhanā!

Let’s first check out just the immediate maternal lineage of our own super-concentrated yet subtle black-body radiating attractiveness <Śrī Kṛṣṇa>, s/o brilliant nature <Deva-kī, d/o Devāpa, s/o Devaka of Ātreya Gotrā... tracing back to Brahmā>. Moreover, Devakī was a reincarnation of non-duality <A-ditī, w/o Maha-rśhi Kaśyapā>.

Next, for the paternal lineage: Śrī Kṛṣṇa, s/o our own ability to drum up our universal brilliance <Ānaka-dundubhī Vasudevā (वसुदेव) s/o Kroṣṭā s/o Yadu s/o Yayāti & Devayānī... tracing back to 🟢 Mercury s/o Moon 🌒 >. These genetic 🧬 traces are critical in deciphering the source of our own attractiveness. Finally, let’s explore the curse that made it all possible:

Our own everythingness <Viṣṇu> is born as our jam-packed attractiveness <Kṛṣṇa>, by virtue of the curse of our creative flame 🔥 of opulence <Maha-rśi Bhṛgu> s/o our own creativity <Brahmā> & author of the revered astrological treatise, Bhṛgu Saṃhitā. Our own aggressive passion <rājasik gunās @ devās> typically has an upper hand over our own inertial laziness <tāmasik gunās @ asurās>, coached by our luxury-endowing bright clarity <Shukra-āchāryā 🔘>, which begins a long & severe penance to seek the passcode to a great victory over & protection from untimely death <mahā-mrityun-jaya man-trā> from our own nothingness <Shi-vā>. In its absence, our luxury-endowing bright clarity <Shukra-āchāryā 🔘> sends our inertial laziness <tāmasik gunās @ asurās> to the work-free <a-shram> refuge of its father, namely our creative flame 🔥 of opulence <Maha-rśi Bhṛgu>.

Taking advantage of the long absence of the guru of our tamasik gunās & the temporary absence of its father, our rajasik gunās or aggressive passions try to overpower our laziness, which in turn seek the refuge of our own brilliant fame <khyāti> or celebrity status, which is the power (wife) of our creative flame 🔥 of opulence <Maha-rśi Bhṛgu>. Our powerful fame thus renders our aggressive passion impotent, forcing it to  seek the intervention of our everythingness, which beheads our fame with the sharp disc of apt perception <su-darshana chakrā>. Maha-rśi Bhṛgu returns! In retaliation, resurrecting its power of fame <khyāti>, our creative flame 🔥 of opulence <Bhṛgu> curses 🤬 our  everythingness <Vishnu> to take multiple births on the geo-plane 🌏 to experience the pains of losing one’s wife & other such mundane occurrences in life. Thus our everythingness’ series of dasāvatārs & more, including as our dark & jam-packed attractiveness <Kṛṣṇa>.

Most of us are familiar with the historical details of what happened this night 5,000+ years ago. But let’s now explore the significance of a few interesting 🧐 scenes, backgrounds, characters & props associated with the strange birth, now celebrated as Śrī Kṛṣṇa Janmāshtami:

  1. The 1️⃣6️⃣ doors 🚪 (of Kamsā’s jail opening up by themselves to enable Vasudevā to carry out the freshly reincarnated Srī Krsna) represent our own 5️⃣ sensors 👃👂👅🧏‍♂️  + 5️⃣ actuators 💪🦵👄** + 1️⃣ PID controller (manoh 💓 buddhi 🧠 ahankārā 🆔) + 5️⃣ elements 🌍 💧 🔥💨 🌌 that our true formless self needs to unshackle out of.
  2. In addition, the shackles on the mobility 🦿of our own indwelling brilliance <feet of Vasudevā> represent our own bondage to the seemingly never-ending cycle of birth, death & rebirth... As soon as our own indwelling yet universal brilliance <Vasudevā> carries our principle of attractiveness <Srī Kṛṣṇa> on its head, it gets unshackled from its cycle of rebirths, letting the spirit loose to its destiny of abundant or rather unbridled freedom.
  3. Doorkeepers or jailers of the prison are the 6️⃣ <shad> internal enemies <vairis/ripus> of our own mind: kāma (lust), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), mada (arrogance), moha (attachment) & matsarya (jealousy), easy to remember as K^2 L M^3, using the mnemonic of the Dutch Airline, KLM, but difficult to take off from! These jail keepers who keep us imprisoned within our own toolbox 🧰 all go to sleep 💤 💤 once we recite/chant the very name of our principle of attractiveness <Srī Kṛṣṇa>, the way our own indwelling brilliance <Vasudeva> did.
  4. The adopted sister of our principle of attractiveness, namely our unifying imagination <Yoga 🧘‍♀️ Māyā>, d/o Yashodā & Nandā, puts everyone to sleep 🛏 in Gokul while her negative form of great illusion <Mahā Māyā> puts everyone in Mathurā to deep sleep 😴 too.
  5. Purpose of rain 🌧 & flood 🌊 in the Yamunā river during the 👶🏻 2️⃣ infants 👶🏻 transfer process is also to keep unwanted attention away & thunderstorm to avoid even anyone sleeping from hearing our universally brilliant mind <Vasudevā>’s footsteps.
  6. The ocean 🌊 , as the most major source/father of all our prosperity <Lakshmi> including our very sustenance (oxygen to breathe into the lungs subtly enclosing our anāhata chakrā, home 🏡 of Lakshmi Nārāyanā) indirectly offers a part of itself (evaporating into clouds ☁️) to the latest incarnation of its son-in-law, Srī Kṛṣṇa
  7. Vasudevā maybe his carrier just for tonight but 1-∞-0 <ādi-ananta-seshā> is our everythingness’ bedding forever. Hence, ādi-ananta-seshā comes over as an umbrella to protect ☔️ not only Srī Kṛṣṇa but His latest temporary & mobile bedding Vasudevā from getting wet 💦 too.
