bhogi vis-à-vis pongal, lohri, makara sankranti et al.

Today is bhōgi, the last day (semester convocation/graduation day) of our biannual (not biennial) deep-dive downward plunge <dakṣiṇ-āyaṇā> into 

1. self-disciplinary practices <sādhanā> for the spiritually-inclined🧘🏻‍♀️yōgi;
2. materialistic pleasures <bhōg> for the physically-indulgent🍻bhōgi; &
3. therapeutic remedies <cikitsā> for the emotionally-despondent😭rōgi.

Thus, the festival of bhōgi is significant for pretty much every one of us as the annual decluttering day in every dimension of who we’re, especially related to the 4️⃣th bhāvā of a jātakā. The 4th📙house🏠from the ascendant <lagṅā> is our physical🏡home: the body; while the same from the🤰🏻natal🤱🏻moon🎑is our emotional🥹home: the mind! Both🫧need🧻regular🧹cleansing🧼… & by extension, all housing: the building, society, nation, planet 🌏, galaxy 🌌 & universe that we occupy! 

An IISc colleague requested me last night to explain the significance of bhōgi. I’ve attempted to do that pictorially to appeal to the graphics expert in him! The emotional🥹mind [candurū], being🌈broad-spectrum🏳️‍🌈[varṇuni], 🕯️waxes🌒&🌘wanes between the🌝extremes🌚of🤗all-encompassing🫂&🪞all-reflective🤝white⚪️, containing every other🎨colour in its🫄🏻fullness on the one🤚hand & the all-renouncing🎗️&🧽all-absorbing⚫️black, devoid of any🙅🏻‍♀️colour whatsoever in its🕳️nothingness on the other🖐️hand.

Such an emotional🥹mind’s beauty [anda] & virtue [candam-] both [-unu] …

హ్రుదయారవిందమున జూచి 

हृदयारवुन्दमुन जूचि 

hṛday-āravunda-muna jūci 

having been subtly witnessed [jūci] by ourSelf in the un-struck an-āhatā cakrā at the naturally-resonating subtle💓heart’s [hṛdaya] characteristic frequency of lotus🪷-like dispassion [aravunda-] leads to the following logical fallout as the immediately next step [-muna]:

బ్రహ్మానందమనుభవించు 

ब्रह्मानन्दमनुभविञ्चु 

brahm-ānandam-anu-bhav-iñcu-

the specially-purified vi-śuddhi’s omni-creative [brahma] bliss [ānandam̐], quantumly [anu] experienced [bhav] at the very pit of the subtle thyroid of the practically-evolving seeker [iñcu-vār]. This is of course dialectically depicted very beautifully & mnemonically as viśuddhi-brahmā arising from the anāhata-viṣṇu’s navel lotus 🪷. Creativity is indeed next to impossible without having to preserve🛟&♻️recycle the remnants of absolute🕳️dissolution. The only exception is the heartless yōgēśvara liṅgā, cognising the irrelevance of sustaining transactional emotions for those already in absolute reunion unexceptionally.
