Well before the buddhā, this special day of agī hunnimé every year has had psycho-astronomical 🌌 significance of our mind 🌝 shining in the realms of the 🌕 guru tattvā, reflecting our luxurious soul 🌞 & balancing its masculinity & femininity <viśākha nakśatrā in the cusp of venetian ♎️ tulā & martian vriśchikā ♏️>. It’s thus celebrated as the ardha-nārīśvara vratā.
According to the world’s foremost theory of evolution (propounded many millennia before Charles Darwin), siddhārthā@gautama buddhā is sometimes regarded as the ninth avatār in the series of daśāvatāram. With the mystic tenth avatār of kalki yet to be identified, the buddhā is thus the most evolved so far, due to his transcendence of his own sharp intellect under a bōdhī/fig tree at bōdh gayā, the anniversary of which we celebrate today.
For those amongst us who’d like to rationally go beyond cārvāka’s materialism & who’re extremely patient, painstakingly logical & thoroughly scientific (hello, anybody still left?!!!), looking for a simple, yet clear & crisp step-by-step approach to the ultimate goal of life, namely mukti/mōkśā/liberation, buddhā’s unidimensional & meditative subset of sanātana dharmā is apt as it offers a quantifiable measure of the progress we’re making in our sādhanā, keeping us on track in a journey of many lives.
But for the rest of us (& that’s a vast majority of the fast-food gen!), who’re in a hurry & don’t mind a heady + healthy + handy + hearty mocktail of science, art, work & love, the remaining vast portions of sanātana dharmā (complimenting the buddhā) have far more diverse aesthetic paths on offer for speedier liberation via tailored, holistic & joyful paths of sānkhyā.
buddham śaranam gacchāmi, dhammam śaranam gacchāmi, sangham śaranam gacchāmi. visāgam śaranam enga chāmi, tiruchendūr subrahmanya swāmi!

Yet another Master-Piece from you! This time, is about the historic Buddha Pournima. This auspicious day reminds me of the quote, “The mind is everything. What you think you become”, and therefore let each of us think of peace, safe health and blissfulness. May Lord Buddha guide us on the path of love, peace and truth! Happy ‘Buddha Purnima’ to you and others in your family.
