chitrā pournami or chaitra purnimā is essentially a picturesque expression of gratitude 🙏 to & reverential celebration of our reliable big-data backup system, which has been uninterruptedly & automatically backing up the seemingly never-ending balance sheet of our accidentally-unconscious thoughts 💭, speeches & actions as well as their ensuing short-term reactions & long-term implications <karmā> over multiple reboots into various hardware systems (our bodies over multiple lifetimes). The only events that the backup system ever ignores are our responsibly-conscious deeds, words & ideas 💡<kriyās>!
The artistically-inclined poets, sculptors & painters expressed, or rather concealed, this scientific concept & technological asset in an aesthetically 🖼 embodied secret 🤫 form <chitra-guptā>, born out of our own creative <brahmā> consciousness <chit>, conjured up by our mind <mānasa-putra>.
This particular aspect of ourSelf is aptly named as chitra-guptā, recognising its geometrically-hidden 🤐 nature & ⏰ time-appropriate revelations of the precious secrets to our own uninhibited & right royal 👑 nature of duty-consciousness <yama-dharma-rājā> for appropriate redemption of penalties/rewards earned by us since time immemorial, just about to mature. Not surprisingly therefore, our kārmic backup system <chitra-guptā> is the presiding officer <adhi-dévatā> for our material declination &, as a corollary, spiritual inclination <kétu>.
Astronomically, this is the descending lunar node marking the massless point of intersection of the solar & lunar orbits, as observed from an earth-fixed reference system. More significantly, it’s yet another conformal mapping from the bounded physical microcosm of our body-mind-intellect (BMI) toolkit’s 🧰 apparently mundane life to the unbounded metaphysical macrocosm of the liberated cosmos, namely a transformation via our material <kāmā-arthā> declination to spiritual <mōkśa-dharmā> inclination.
This is a potential transition from our preoccupation with the 💯-odd elements of the entire periodic table (that we spent so much time learning & using ever since high school chemistry), which shockingly constitute a mere <<0.1% of existence to the leading-order interplay between the ubiquitous dark energy ~73% <mahā-kālī> & dark matter ~23% <mahā-kālā>. BTW, stars ✨ constitute ~4% of the cosmic structure, according to the current understanding of modern physics.
True to its name, our kārmic backup system <chitra-guptā>, works in the background, endowed with a GPU & videographic memory deeply embedded in every inherited gene 🧬 & living cell, dually powered by our rejoicing delight <nandini> as the main power & brilliant beauty <śōbhāvati> as the UPS. In this sense, chitra-guptā is our built-in pre-chartered accountant as well as the progenitor of the devanagari script & of course all its spinoffs, nay writing itself… period. No wonder, the garuda purānā exalts our irrepressible backup system with the phrase “chitra-gupta nama-stubhyam ved-ākśara-dātré!” References to our backup system goes all the way back to the antiquity of the rg védā.
The choice of a purnimā for this wonderfully-auspicious celebration of our kārmic backup system is most apt as every purni-mā 🤰🏻 is a potent day-night combo to effortlessly express, irrespective of our biological gender, our fully-pregnant <purni> motherliness <mā>, (towards our own momentary creation, namely the entire 🤱 universe at that very instant of time) expressed as devotion <bhakti>. But this particular purni-mā is all the more significant as our receptive minds (conformally mapped out to the moon 🌝) fully reflect our exalted ātmā (conformally mapped out to the Sun 🌞 in Aries ♈️ <méśa-rāśi>)!
On the other 11/12 full moon 🌕 days, however, the sun ☀️ isn’t exalted & hence the ātmic expression is subdued by the atomic expressions of our other false (or rather, temporary & less significant lower truthful) identities <aham-kārā>, normally & wrongly attributed to the fall guy, ego, just as an excuse to escape our responsibility. This is a classic example of a situation where the so-called ‘normal’ can be erroneous! Just because many people think, say or do something, it doesn’t automatically become right!
The icing on the cake 🧁 for this picturesque chitrā 🖼 pournami 🌝 happens to be a longish original bhajan, which just occurred to me as most appropriate to enable our minds to freely sing 🎤 & bodies to uninhibitedly dance 💃🏻 to the tunes of ourSelf, the soul, keeping our sharp intellect on its edge!!! The short version was shared with y’all last night.

The ingredient of our mind 🌙 🌚 🌝 is 💦 fluid liquid 💧. Becoming aware of this, we are unequivocally established in ourSelf. Freely-flowing liquid 💧 💦 is the essence of our mind 🌝 🌚 🌙. Recognising this, we get established in ourSelf. We, who know the ultimate source of elemental💧 liquid 💦automatically get established in ourSelf. It doesn’t matter whether the approach is ‘scientific’ or spiritual. The latter know the former as a core subset!
